The Labor Market Information Division (LMID) of the EDD, in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, will be doing an initial survey postcard mailing this month for the occupational and wage survey panel to start in May 2013. The May 2013 survey reference period requires employers to report both full-time and part-time employees who worked during the pay period including May 12th. The survey was designed to produce occupational estimates that are seasonally adjusted. Semi-annual panel collection and a faster processing schedule will provide LMI customers with timely data. Estimates from this survey panel will be available in May 2014 for more than 820 occupations by geographic area and by industries in California. You can find the most current California OES Employment and Wages online at http://www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov/
by selecting "Wages" under "LMI by Subject" section.
The initial mailing of the May 2013 survey will go to more than 17,000 California employers. As always, the success of the survey will be the result of timely and accurate reporting by employers. The survey provides valuable information to employers, job seekers, students, the employment and training community, and economic developers. The OES data are used to develop occupational trends by industry, evaluate the presence of technology on occupations, and measure the changing employment composition of industries.
If you are one of the employers selected to participate, and you have questions, or need specific information about survey results, please call the OES toll-free at 1-800-826-4896 or fax your request to 916-262-2950.
